Kritikala is a social enterprise that focuses on empowering weavers and strengthening their crafting techniques not just so they could sustain themselves but also to make their craft famous enough that it turns into a profitable business for them, by giving their work an online platform. This would not only help the weavers fulfill their dreams but would also make their younger generations see why their ancestral craft of handmade ethnic clothing is a very valuable gift to society. During these tough times of COVID-19, the frequent and random lock-downs in various cities and states due to rising cases has turned into suffering for the weavers, the crafted goods couldn't be transported to the city markets as the restrictions imposed on the public transport and markets have not been lifted completely yet and the weavers obviously can't afford a private transport to just deliver the product themselves. These weavers only know how to make A-grade pieces of clothing, but they mostly don't have the skills and resources to sell it themselves, they don't even know what their product is worth in the cities and how people go crazy over handmade stuff. They might lack the technical aspects like machinery and factories but they very well know how to be at par with these machine-made clothing, and with even greater accuracy and precision at times than them. Most weavers are women and we at Kritikala aim to bring about a change in the social standings of weaving women, to make them independent and self-sufficient. This enterprise is all about weaver as well as women empowerment and we plan on donating a significant amount of the profits towards girl education in India, which would help be a boost in the direction to achieve their dreams. Now coming to how Kritikala is a good deal from the point of view of the customer - What customers get is an original product with a premium finish and a traditional touch. Handmade stuff these days is anyway on a roll. Kritikala has organized a network of transportation facilities that will deliver the product at your doorstep. The clothing that we provide at Kritikala is environment friendly so, besides helping the poor households of weavers you would also be fulfilling your duties as a human being, a huge step towards sustainable development. The level of comfort in the handmade clothing is just phenomenal, and this just shows the efforts put in by weavers.

Let's bring back the days when Indian hand-loom industries used to be the pride of India and the backbone of the Indian economy!
